Presto II
North is always up, like Google Maps.
Pros
- Light reaches the main living area from two directions.
- Windows on two sides of the living area let a breeze through.
- The bedrooms sit away from the living areas, so they stay quiet.
- A separate toilet, so the bathroom can be used at the same time.
Cons
- Only 2.0 m² of built in storage outside the bedrooms, less than three in four plans on Dudils.
- The garage is 5.75 m wide inside; a double garage should be 6 m.

Orientation notes
Presto II by tempoliving.com.au is a 2 storey house drawn so its main living areas face north for free winter warmth and natural summer cooling. On this page the floor plan is rotated so north is up, the same way Google Maps shows a site.
It suits a block with the backyard to the north, where the street and driveway sit to the south.
At 13 metres wide by 9.2 metres deep (about 185 square metres of floor area), the house needs a build width of roughly 14 metres once you allow for side setbacks. Across New South Wales, turning the living areas to the north keeps a home warm through a coastal or inland winter and easy to shade in summer.
Dudils only lists this plan because an architect reviewed it and confirmed the living areas can face north on a real Australian block. Use the search on this page to check it against your own block width, depth and driveway side before you talk to the builder.
