Every robe, linen cupboard, pantry and store room is traced on the floor plan itself and converted to square metres through the plan's own width and depth. The reading is approximate and is shown to one decimal place.
What counts as storage and what does not?
Robes, linen cupboards, pantries and dedicated store rooms count. Garage bays, alfresco cupboards, laundries and bedroom floor area do not, so the figure is the built in storage rather than every space a box could go in.
How much storage does a house need?
There is no single right number. A practical test is to walk the home you live in now and list what has no cupboard of its own: the vacuum, the linen, the suitcases, the pantry overflow. Then look for those things on the plan. Every reading on this page is taken the same way, so two plans can be compared rather than guessed at.
